Exciting plans have been drafted for the delivery of high-quality new homes at the Former Foxfield School site, Douglas Drive, Moreton

To ensure we deliver the best possible development for Moreton, we would like to capture the views of the local community.

We want to work with the local community to develop the masterplan for the site. Our emerging plans will deliver in the region of 69 new high-quality family homes. Our ideas have informed the emerging masterplan but we want to know what you think.

Why this site?

The Former Foxfield School site is one of the priority sites being brought forward by Wirral Growth Company to ensure that the vision and aims of JV partnership be achieved.

The Former Foxfield School Site (the site) extends to approximately 1.44ha. Until 2018 the site was occupied by redundant school buildings, which closed in 2015 (following the development of a replacement school at New Hey Road, Woodchurch). The site is clear of all buildings and is available for redevelopment.

The site is classed as previously developed land (also known as brownfield) and it is located within a primarily residential area, close to local amenities such as Moreton town centre, public transport and Lingham Park.

This means that according to the Council’s existing and emerging planning policy the site is suitable for residential development.

The emerging masterplan demonstrates that the site has the potential to accommodate in the region of 69 homes. This includes a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom family and affordable terraced and semi-detached properties, ranging from 2-2.5 storeys in height.

Foxfield –

All homes have front and back gardens plus off street parking for at least one car. The proposed density and mix are considered appropriate and in keeping with the suburban character of the surrounding area.

Furthermore, given the need to provide parking, highways infrastructure, private amenity space, landscaping and suitable separation distances with neighbouring properties the densities proposed will provide the most effective and efficient use of the land.

All feedback received on the emerging masterplan will be reviewed and carefully considered, allowing us to take your views into account before we submit a full planning application to Wirral Council (as the Local Planning Authority).

Delivery Partner

 

The WGC have partnered with Lovell to deliver high quality homes on the Former Foxfield School site.

Lovell are a housing specialist with their regional office in Birkenhead and has been selected because of their long track record of working in the City Region, including Wirral. Together WGC and Lovell have the drive and expertise to deliver new homes that meet the needs and expectations of the local community.
